On vacation and need a tow? Don’t call this place!

Jarvis towing of Cape Hatteras Exxon towed our car 1/4 mile for $300. My wife and I were on our honeymoon. We were stuck because of flooding and needed to be carried over the water. The day before we had to leave, I called and asked how much. Jarvis said $150. He then said to call back when we needed to be towed. 

So I called back the next day when we needed to leave. He said he was on another job and would call us back. That’s fine. Since my wife were packed up and waiting, we walked into town and inquired about towing at another place. I told him we called Jarvis, but he was busy at the moment. Since this business owner didn’t want to step on Jarvis’s toes, he called Jarvis and said he couldn’t help us. 

Next thing I know, I get a call from Jarvis and he tells me the price is now $300 because we needed to get out of the sand. Funny he didn’t ask me that the day before. Also funny that he made small talk w/ my wife and said he saw our car stuck in the sand a day or so prior.

We needed to leave and were in a tough spot. My wife and I really felt that we were taken advantage of. So if you’re stuck and need help, don’t call Jarvis towing of Cape Hatteras Exxon!

Nice Gas Station.

Fast courteous staff.  Repaired my tires even when they were closing for the day.  Thanks guys. Saved my vacation and the 14 hr drive home.
