If you have to deal with probate. Be ready for fees apon fees. They don't tell you about the fees. You just find out through the mail. New fee bill. And there is a fee for sending this bill. I'll probably get a fee for this review.

I never post things like this because government, anyway you look at it is usually inefficient, but I will say that Fairfax County courthouse has always been very friendly and they actually pick up the phone! I'm from Kansas City and it is so rare that you can get ANYONE on the phone and if you do, they are so rude and just ghetto. It was always customary that if you needed anything, you would just have to go down to the courthouse and wait in line. Now with Fairfax County, anytime I have to make a call or go to the courthouse everyone is always so nice and helpful. I've honestly never had a bad experience AND I have to go the courthouse a lot. Both business and personal (I've got a lot of speeding tickets). Most recently I applied for my concealed gun permit. It was SOOO easy, I just couldn't believe it. I want to thank Fairfax County for being professional, courteous and surprisingly efficient.

I've seen the video of Ms. Natasha Mckenna GOD don't like ugly you shackled her hands and her feet where her hands were shackled restrained to a door the whole time she was there and the county let this go slavery been over written in the constitution and this entire state allowed this to push on the victim I'm starting a blog and going to my local news station to help get this open back up for justice to be handed down to everyone that was involved to not do anything from the county to Virginia Government this a disgrace to all Government in the United States who would want to live in a state that allow torture.

Not a good time. On walking into the court, you're going to have to go through a metal detector, and it's one of those ones that makes you take your shoes off too. Always nice to be presumed guilty until proven innocent. For those applying for a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP), you'll have to go to room 116 to have your permit notarized/stamped/whatever. Waiting in line took over a half hour at 2PM on a Monday, ~10 days into the month (and you have to pay for parking - it's $2.00 for under an hour, if it takes them forever, you're the one paying more). For those interested, below is the Fairfax County Circuit Court procedures for getting a CHP: 1) Fill out the CHP form available online, print out *all* pages, make a photocopy of your 'proof of handgun competency' 2) Go to the circuit court, head to room 116, get your application signed off on/notarized (Photo ID needed) 3) Head to room 115 (library), make a photocopy of 4pg application, proof of competency @ 25 cents a page ($1.25) 4) Purchase from the library an envelope with a stamp, address it to yourself (because Fairfax makes you pay for the envelope to mail your permit, apparently) - $1.75, or bring it yourself 5) Head to room 319 to submit the notarized application for $50.00 (maximum allowed by VA) - note there is a 4% credit card surcharge ($2.00) Voila, in about 45 days and $57 later, you'll be given the "privilege" of now being able to take your already-allowed openly carried handgun, and tuck it under your shirt. A blatant infringement (charging fees, impeding the exercise of) on the *right* to *bear* (hold or carry) arms, but there you have it. Hey Fairfax County Circuit Court - once you start serving the public instead of subjugating it, I might reconsider you as a respectable institution. 0/5, would not recommend. "Sic semper tyrannis"
