Incredibly unorganized hotel. We drove over 4 hours to attend a wedding in Ithaca and this was the hotel that was blocked off for the wedding attendees. Upon our arrival, we noticed there were a few people in the lobby of the hotel holding suit bags and dresses in their hands. After waiting in line to try to check in, we were told that the cleaning staff was backed up and they would not be able to check us in and no rooms were available. I expect a much higher level of service from a Marriott hotel, especially one in a town that is known for its hospitality. The Fairfield is relentlessly uncaring. The college child behind the counter showed absolutely no care or concern for any of the customers that would be late for the wedding, including close family members. If a hotel manager knows months in advance that the hotel must be ready to accommodate a sea of people who have time constraints for a wedding, that manager should amp up the staff and ensure that everyone hustled just a little bit more on the day of. I understand most hotels are busy, but if a service staff really cares they would be dripping with sweat doing everything they can to help their clients. I'm not shocked by the fact that rooms were not available, I'm shocked by the lack of reaction by the staff and the careless approach used to solving this problem. Poor hospitality and service, most likely due to poor management and bad planning. They failed to prepare and the front desk staff unfortunately dealt with all the battering. If this did not happen, the hotel would have potentially received a much better review because the facility is nice, but looks aren't everything...

Very happy with the stay. New Property. Perfectly situated for Ithaca College Parents. Rooms are spacious and well thought out with regards to furniture and amenities. The large glass shower was excellent. This location has breakfast included as well as an indoor pool.

Everything was good at the hotel except for the oatmeal at the continental breakfast. There was too much water in it so much that there was water sitting on top of it. I had to add granola to thicken it. Otherwise the stay was very enjoyable. The hotel is so close to buttermilk falls that I walked there. I will likely stay there again especially for leisure I plan to come back to the area to see Cornell Ornithology and Sapsucker woods

House keeping did not clean our room, even though we were out most of the day. Was also disappointed that we booked a king bed through central reservations, but they actually gave us two queens. Hotel was otherwise nice, just wish the service was better. Breakfast wasn't great.

We stayed for three nights. I want to commend Allie in the kitchen who was most accommodating at our last breakfast on Sept. 8th and the gentleman at the front desk (whose name I forgot to ask) on Wed. evening, Sept 6th, who went out of his way, as well. Housekeeping did a good job.
