Stayed August 2017, first and last time most likely? There is a Courtyard around the corner which is usually a higher category. Wanted to save a little on the room as it is an overnight. Friendly staff. Clean outward appearance. Our issues were primarily with the smell of BO and funk in both rooms. Basic rooms with appropriate level of furnishings, space...The gym was small and the equipment was old and well worn. The floor in the gym echoed and shook when up on the treadmill which dad to effect rooms below as the gym, so called is on the top, third floor. Overall, it is a bed, and was quiet.

The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and reasonably well-appointed, but minus a point for truly awful pillows, erratic climate control and breakfast offerings inferior to other comparably-priced hotel chains. This is a good location for convenient access to Traverse City and environs, close enough to shopping malls and other amenities.

WARNING- This hotel will overbook their hotel, and then give your reserved rooms away which will leave you without hotel accommodations. I debated whether or not I wanted to file this complaint, but given the fact that I have not been offered an apology by anyone at the property, including the manager, I am sharing the worst hotel experience I have ever had. My flight in to Traverse City was delayed, so I landed at 2am. I called this hotel for directions, when the night auditor, named Addison, shared, “Oh, I was kind of hoping you weren’t going to show up. We oversold the night and I gave your room away to someone who had more Marriott status than you.” First of all, when I make a reservation for a room, I expect it to be there. I am a human being, and if you want to classify people’s value and worth by Marriott status, then I will not stay with Marriott again. Second of all, APOLOGIZE TO THE CUSTOMER WHEN YOU SELL THEIR ROOM. Furthermore, call them in advance to inform them that they are not valuable to you, and that you sold the reservation to someone else. That way, when they show up, they aren’t expecting a room at 2am even though they made a reservation. Not once did Addison apologize. He told me that he would send me to Great Wolf Lodge. Let me share something with you- when someone is traveling for business, they do not want to stay at a children’s waterpark. If you are going to overbook your hotel, make better arrangements for your guests. I was sent to Great Wolf Lodge who only had a “Child’s Wolf Den” room with bunk beds. There were kids screaming all night, running the halls, no housekeeping was provided, and it was just an unpleasant two nights surrounded by hundreds of vacationers up at all hours of the night. I reserved a room for over $200 per night, and then got to stay in a room that I wouldn’t have even paid $500 for. Again, there was NO APOLOGY from anyone at the Marriott.

Located near Meijer and Cracker Barrel. Sam's is also near by. Our room was very nice. Clean. Breakfast was available but average at best. Toilet and shower were separated from the bathroom sink. Ice available on the 1st and 3rd floors.

Great experience at this Fairfield location. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Always on top of things, resourceful and responsive. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing stay at TC.
