Very nice decor. Amazing view on a clear day. Good service and friendly bi-lingual staff. Clean, well appointed rooms.

Very good service. As much as usually love Fairmont Hotels, this one looks old. And not in the usual "Victorian" historic old, just plain old. Of course, some rooms are tiny while other ones are much bigger and more modern. Mine was small but the bet was comfortable. The desk was the weakest part as I have a large laptop. Also, the usb charging slots in the wall close to the bed refused to charge my cell phone, my tablet and my portable power bank. Restaurants were ok, but I must say that the Eggs Benedictine with duck Margret that I ate for the breakfast where absolutely delicious.

What a mixed experience... Wanting to stay in a luxurious "castle" for one night, we decided to splurge on this hotel. The location is, indeed, sensational, and the architecture is breathtaking. The staff is as good as you would expect from a fine establishment such as this. The bed is the most comfortable I've ever slept on. The complementary Nespresso and toiletries made us feel spoiled, as did the bathrobes. The biggest disappointments were the pool area. The sauna was closed for maintenance--unacceptable, as there is a $20 charge per room for the hotel's "spa" facilities. Only one of the 2 (tiny!) pools was heated, so of course it was overcrowded with children and not remotely enjoyable for a couple to spend time in. The hot tub was lukewarm and bubble free... everyone was just floating around in it looking sad. And even the indoor pool wasn't heated! I've had much better pool experiences at much lesser hotels. The breakfast was also a disappointment. Sure, there is smoked salmon. But besides that, nothing on the buffet menu was remotely remarkable or delicious, really. I had a much better breakfast at a bed&breakfast down the street the night before, where the landlady made an amazing tomato tart and served homemade jams on toast. The Manoir Richelieu could really stand to put out some good pastries or something to warrant the $30 price tag. Finally, the rooms, while very comfortable, are very lacking in terms of design and aesthetics. The bathrooms are beautiful and look period appropriate and luxurious. The room itself looks like it might as well be in a Hilton by the airport.
