This store is just okay. I do probably 90% of my shopping at Jewel because Fair play just isn't as pleasant a store. They tend to be out of a good number of their sale items, sometimes on the first day of the sale!  I must say they have excellent meat though, nice thin pork chops, steaks and chicken for good prices.

My husband initially enjoyed going here bevause produce was good and not many people. I went and the cashier wasn't very pleasant. My husband went again to purchase a .99 drink and paid in change. Cashier asked him if he was serious. So my husband let that go until she continued by commenting, "Some people." So my husband let her have it. Let's train "some people" on how to interact with customers. Maybe that's all he had on him? Maybe he wanted to get rid of the change in his pocket? Doesn't matter. Not happy working then don't.

I shop here often and I do prefer this store, however, I am unable to understand how, at 6 PM a grocery store full of customers can only have one register plus the 10 or less open. It is so frustrating standing in a seemingly never ending line and watching the staff walking, never looking up at the line of customers waiting to give them their money. One would think that perhaps the poor cashier that was sick with the thankless job of checking everyone out might ask for some assistance, but that didn't happen.

Love this store.  It's old school. No fancy coffee bar, but great fresh food, meat prices are awesome and strong deli selections.
