I've been looking for a place like this since moving to NYC. They're easy to find in London but a little harder in NYC dependent on the neighbourhood. I'm a huge fan of Middle Eastern, North African and South Asian food. The owner is very friendly, the food is authentic and flavourful, prices are excellent - I'll definitely be back again soon! Wheelchair accessibility: Door is adjacent to sidewalk.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Went to my favorite food spot today 1/23/22 and loaded up for something to eat tonight. I also got lunch for my sisters at work. Falafel combination wraps with hummus, babagannouj, falafel and grape leaves & Chicken Shawarma wraps with middle eastern spices, lettuce, tomatoes and sauce. Their home made sauces are so good. Couldn't leave without Baklawa. Food is so gooooood. Prices are reasonable. Small sitting area. Good authentic middle eastern food. Went back a 2nd time to get food for family. Toooo hot to cook. Vegetarian options: You can get these vegetarian options in a pita, wrap, side dish and salad: chick peas, hummus, falafel, baba ghannouj eggplant, grape leaves and fava beans.
Excellent authentic cuisine with very friendly service!! A must try in the West Harlem area and with a very extensive selection to suit all tastes. A favorite and with takeout and delivery—good to note: some but minimimal inside seating and very pleasant music. Nice staff too and quick food preparation. Excellent falafel and gyros!
Tarboosh isn't much to look at, but the food is fantastic, inexpensive, and enough the last 2 days. Everything is prepared fresh, and their salad items make it a cut above the salty and fatty selections elsewhere. The chicken swarma is delicious, the falafel fresh, and many things they choose to make instead of dump out of a can, unlike other Middle-Eastern places. I love their vegetarian plates. They care about the customers and it shows. Vegetarian options: I often get a falafel platter, sandwich, or salad. It's the large assortment in their salad bar, which the customers can choose from, that really sets this place apart . Vegans would find plenty to choose from as well.

Oh My God. This is the BEST chicken/rice platter I have had, definitely my top 5. This place makes the halal carts in midtown look basic. Each shred of meat, even the rice is bursting with flavor. Their salad is delicious, even their sauces are so well made. Definitely my go-to spot for lunch when I can't figure out what I want. Highly recommend! MashaAllah!! Praise God
