I want to like FancyFree but it seems like they have some kitchen issues they need to sort. Visited twice and had problems both times. First time they burned our Fried Pickles appetizer and had to remake them so they barely came out before our entrees, leaving a large gap between when our cocktails arrived and actually got food. Server explained and apologized but still... The second visit they served our appetizer with our entrees, also not cool. Cocktails, appetizers, then entrees, it's not hard. Having said all that, the food and cocktails are pretty good. In spite of not timing them right, the Fried Pickles are tasty. Fried Chicken entree was surprisingly boneless and the chicken was quite good. The waffle less so, the dough was weirdly dense, not airy and light as you'd expect. A&W Old Fashioned cocktail had great flavor and was not too sweet. Fish and Chips entree from our first visit was also pretty good. Staff were friendly and helpful on both visits. Overall, I'm on the fence. If they can sort out the kitchen issues, they could easily be a four or five star experience but based on what we've seen so far, gotta go with three.
Excellent food and excellent service but- the shining star is the Bloody Mary made by bartender Sunny. It is hands down one of the best I've ever had and I can make a good Bloody Mary myself. I rarely order them because I can usually make them better. But when Sunny is working- I am sure to order a Bloody!
Fast and friendly service. Happy hour prices were great and the old fashioned was perfect. Food was pretty good but we only had some snacks before dinner. It was a good spot to catch up with some friends and also had great music inside. There was ample seating outdoors as well.
A great place to relax, eat and enjoyed the vibes. Food always served fresh, juicy, hot. Staff is friendly and they make EVERYONE feel special. Location is cool and the space is wheelchair accessible. I come here atleast once a month with my co-producer after a series of filming. The Lemon and Pepper chicken is one of my Favorite finger food, but if you're not allergic to seafood you Must Try their Pan Seared Salmon!!! Yumm
Ehh. came for happy hour drink and dinner on feb 23rd 2023. HH specials are a bit high, but dt brookyln is hot now. Bartenders were attentive and bring the drinks around to your table. Once I ordered food, the slimmer guy who looks like “where’s waldo” was serving me, his demeanor was less friendly, kinda flat. make of that as you will. Ordered the Nachosw/o meat $12 for happy hour — they were okay, mine had random cooked carrots and bay leaves in it Drinks: 2 traditional Margaritas $10/per for happy hour— not bad Entree: Fish and Chips — not seasoned really but maybe that’s how it’s suppose to be? didn’t come with said malt vinegar, the tar tar sauce was really odd, it wasn’t really tar tar lol. i think it’s made in house, interesting taste. Overall, it’s a neat bar for after work meets. they had on good classic movies: Mrs Congeniality and such.
Loved it here. It's a great pub. They offer great food, with a few Vegetarian and Vegan options. I ordered the Veggie Burger and it was really good. I topped it with jalapenos which gave it a nice spiciness. The service was super great. They also provided our dog a water bowl, which was super nice. I recommend to go to FancyFree, they have really good options and offer a great atmosphere
Went for lunch today ordered. Buffalo/lemon pepper wings and turkeyburger and a margarita . burger sucked. My friend ordered grilled cheese tomato soup combo. Food sucked even the fries sucked. Her grilled cheese was child size and soup tasted like spicy tomato paste it wasn't good. So if I go back it'll be drinks only..
I wanna have something better to say about this place but one of nightmares about a restaurant came true . Two servers at the restaurant served our food to a large party at the wrong table. The party hovered over the food while it sat there for at least 10 to fifteen minutes.the servers picked the items up from off the table and then brought it to us like it was fresh out the kitchen. I was appalled it was disingenuous cheap and just plain lazy with no regard for customers who come there to spend their money or health for that matter suffice to say I won't visit there again
CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! I went here for food with my family and had a terrible experience on multiple accounts: slow service, inaccurate order, had to send food back because of terrible taste the tomato soup tasted like straight up lemon juice and no apologies from the staff about any of this. But what takes the cake is that they overcharged my card! I had written down the total amount including tip on my receipt and when I checked it against what they charged, they had clearly and intentionally added an additional 10% on the tip amount. Protect yourself from theft and avoid this place!
Went on a Saturday night. We were standing at the entrance for a bit before we realized no one was coming to seat us. That needs to be clearly communicated so first-time customers are there wondering what to do. We had to ask someone at the bar and were told to find ourselves a table. All were dirty! Nevertheless, the food was ok.
