It was my first time here and I really enjoyed my stay. I got the chicken salad and it was very good. There was more chicken than salad but it was still pretty good. 7.99 gave you a heaping plate.

Nice family restaurant in Mexia. Steak is good,  Chicken fried steak is better and catfish is really good. Beer selection is limited. Good value and friendly staff.

Satisfying portions and rustic atmosphere.  Staff is always busy and therefore,  not especially friendly. I liked the choice of two sizes of chicken fried steak - lunch and dinner.

Great experience dining at the Farm House. 
Their with the Howard family reunion.
Food was delious, serve hot we had catfish
Which was prepared nice & crispy.
Highly recommended 5 stars.
Wait staff superb...

I do not give high marks easily but The Farm House Restaurant is exceptional!
We had catfish fried to perfection. I would definitely go back on my next trip to Mexia. They also had BBQ and chicken fried steak. This is Texas! Looked good.
