Appalling Customer Service I purchased a home and chose Walter Wiesner Jr. with Farmers Insurance to be my home insurance provider. We closed on a Friday (of easter weekend) and at some point after that received a a phone voicemail from him asking for me to call him. I worked all 3 days of Easter weekend and so was slammed and unable to return his call right away. I then had a major project that was to be completed Wednesday evening that had me working 12-13 hour days. He had called and left another voicemail at my office and my personal phone. I was unable to call him and decided I'd call him Thursday morning after my job was finished. My complaint: I came into my office and found a note from my administrative assistant that read, "Please call Walt Wiesner and she quoted him saying "It's common courtesy to return my call" and that he said he was not happy. I called him and said I didn't appreciate that, especially with how my week had gone and reminded him that I'm the customer. I explained that I don't appreciate the disrespect and am now interested in taking my business else where. Trying to be gracious to him we set up an appt for the next day to continue our business. Not appreciating how we treated me, I decided to go with USAA instead. When I called Walt Wiesner to tell him, he lost his mind and was yelling at me about how hard he worked and deserved my business. As I was trying to explain the significant price difference with USAA and ask how I will receive my refund he was speaking over me and then abruptly hung up on me. I think this is incredibly rude and an unacceptable way to treat people. I understand he had waited a couple of days for me to call, and I'm sorry for that, but my business and livelihood matters to me as much his does to him. He'd still have a customer had he been mature enough to be a real businessman and be respectful. Additionally, the policy he sold me was $1,350 annually. USAA gave me the exact same policy for $830 annually. I want the world to know what happened and to take their business elsewhere. I have NO PROBLEM with Farmers. They were not the problem and I have contacted Farmers headquarters and Walt Wiesners district supervisor and they have been very receptive as I've made them aware of what happened. They have apologized and said they're ashamed this happened. I just want people to stay away from Walter Wiesner Jr.'s business and find a someone who's actually good at what they do. Could you imagine calling him if you need a claim?!
