Story

This is the official page of the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale, NY sanctioned by Farmingdale Mayor Ralph Ekstrand and the Village Board of Trustees:
Deputy Mayor - Patricia Christiansen
Trustees: Willam Barrett, Cheryl Parisi, Walter Priestley

Farmingdale Village is a historic community that was established in 1691.
Centrally located along the Nassau/Suffolk line, Farmingdale Village covers approximately 1.25 square miles and is home to over 200 businesses and about 9,000 residents.

Welcome to Farmingdale Village! Whether you are a first time visitor or a local Daler, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our Village. I hope our visitors can see why our Board of Trustees and I chose to settle here and raise our families. We think we have it all! We are surrounded by world renowned beaches. A short 50 minute train ride gets you to the greatest city in the world. Take a one hour ride to the east end of Long Island and step back in time and get a flavor of what Long Island looked like a short time ago. Farmingdale is the center of it all. While you're here, I hope you have a chance to dine in one of our many great restaurants and shop in our wonderful variety of retail stores located in our downtown. Enjoy all we have to offer and we hope to see you down on Main Street!
Mayor Ralph Ekstrand

During summer months on Sundays there are small farmstands setup outside near the gazebo. Fresh produce and sometimes the cheeseman, condiments guy or the pickle guy sets up a booth. A quaint little quiet spot. Several times a year there are street fairs, bands and festivities. People from all places within the island gather around and enjoy the simple life. Farmingdale is a wonderful town with amazing eateries. We are so lucky to live in a land so plentiful. People from other nations have heard of: "The land of plentiful." We live their dreams of living in America, the good life!
