We have eaten lunch there numerous times, but no more. Have you ever had a grilled cheese sandwich on cold white toast? Well, if that sounds good then try Field Table. Their food and service has gotten worse each time we've gone there. Yet each time we have hoped it will have improved, but NOT, so no more.. We hate to say this, but it needs either to change management or give in to another restaurant that cares about food and service. The location is too valuable to waste. Sorry. Do wish it was better. But we've tried too many times.

I want to write about my visit to the "Field Table" restaurant. Last Saturday night my friends and I went there and were shocked by the service we received. 1. One glass of wine (cost $ 12.00) the bartender filled with the same wine, but from three different bottles! 2.No one even gave us paper napkins. 3.Everywhere there were dirty dishes. 4.But the worst part- the staff of this restaurant was celebrating an event, and they were drunk. Maybe they were free from work this evening, but they were distracting all the time and attracted those workers who were supposed to fulfill their duties. If the business owner wanted to make an event for employees, the restaurant should be closed because of a private party. We will never go back there.

From the time we were immediately welcomed and seated, our food and service was excellent. Wait staff was knowledgeable, attentive and with qualities I associate with finest dining. The trout special was amazing, delicious, unique, and was served at a perfect hot temperature. The simple green salad was perfect. We ordered the special freshly baked bread, deliciously unique with amazing house made butter and Maldon salt.

Poor, bumbling service held back an otherwise good experience. The waiter was pompous and affected, but he struggled to provide efficient service or get orders correct. The food and location are excellent. Rather high prices, so the value is just ok. Drinks are expensive: I only had a PBR, so I can't say whether they're worth it. There are several better restaurants in the area. Field Table is worth a visit if you're already familiar with the other restaurants in the Square.

I loved my breakfest sammy for lunch. It was delicious, i would highly recommend it. The breakfast cocktail and donut selection was also amazing. On a Sunday morning at 10:45am, the place was not very busy at all. That was pleasant for a normally crazy time for brunch in Madison. I would have given them a five, but the waitress left the egg i asked to be removed from my sandwich due to allergy on it. That's a biggie.
