Visiting from out of town, dropped in to check minor problems in cooling systems. Tony figured it out quickly and honestly and we were out of there within the hour.

Scam artists. I do most of my own car work, but I am not very good at diagnostics. I brought my wife's car in because it was bogging down and asked them to diagnose the problem and call me. That is all. When I didn't hear from them, I called the next morning only to find out that they had changed my wife's alternator already without my permission and were claiming that I owed them $350 for the job! I'm no fool. An alternator costs $100 tops and the job only takes 20 minutes. Even at the most expensive mechanic you're  only looking at $30-50 in labor, and between that and a $100 alternator that should come to $150-180 tops, yet Filippos added an extra $200 on top of that because they thought they could take advantage of me. After much arguing and yelling about how I was being ripped off I finally convinced them to remove the alternator from the vehicle and put my old one back in since they never had my permission to do the job in the first place. They then proceeded to charge me ($65!!) for a diagnostic fee which is unheard of. I have never paid more than $20-40 for a mechanic just to tell me what is wrong with my car (if they even charge me at all). These guys try to take advantage of people who they assume have no knowledge of car repair. Little did they know I am no idiot. When I finally got the car back I ordered an alternator online for $80 and changed it myself in a matter of 15 minutes. These guys are con artists. I would never recommend this shop to anyone after this experience. Thank you.

At least he's one of the few honest mechanics around. Trustworthy and fair in my experience.
