Brisket sandwich was super, good sauces, and the staff was friendly. I had the baked beans and they were really nice! Three types of beans and red/green peppers gave it a real unique flavor that wasn't overpowering. Coleslaw seemed to be perhaps not homemade and somewhat standard. Overall a great experience and we would definitely stop again given the opportunity.
Got the 2 meat combo platter with brisket, pork, fried okra, onion rings and cornbread. Add 2 regular drinks and for less than $25 USD my world got rocked! I always heard that Georgia has some of the best barbecue but to actually taste it... If you are traveling on I-75 South, stop right here. If you're local, stop right here. Cause it would be a sin to pass up food this good.
I ordered the barbecue pulled pork nachos loaded. Let me tell you the young lady behind the counter 100% competent at her job. I got the best nachos of my life here ! This is a new spot added to my journeys! Thanks for the great food and professional staff!
Stopped for lunch at Fire Up BBQ - it was rated high on Yelp and I-Exit. Thought huh? Let’s give it a try… drive up to a quaint smaller place with a full parking lot at 1:30pm on a Thursday afternoon in February! We were warmly greeted and attended to while we took in the menu. We were assured the bbq would be good regardless of our meat choice and they did not lie! I had the chicken and my partner had the beef. My mouth waters even writing this review ! No salt or sauce needed ! Chicken was very tender and melts in your mouth-beef was tender and not full of grizzle. The sides seems pretty standard. If you find yourself traveling on highway 75 in the GA stretch-and you would like some smoked bbq - this could be an excellent option for you - it was for us ! Kid-friendliness: It is a very laid back, kind, warm and friendly environment Parking: Small lot with plenty of parking Wheelchair accessibility: Door entry is ground level no stairs
It was a great place when it started, but not any more. I don’t know how many new owners this place has had, but going down hill and unfortunately they lost me as a regular customer. The quality and quantity are poor while prices have gone horribly high. Customer service needs some training. Those girls behind counter have some type of attitude you can see it on their faces without them having to say a word. I liked the previous setting where you could see what was actually placed in your plate and how much. Now you’d be lucky if you get enough food for the price and you have to find out at home if ordering to go. Also, I’ve been told on a few occasions before that what I want to order “we can’t do that,” even though I know it can be done, I just have to pay a little extra. So I have had to correct them. Not worth going back. Picture is sausage and brisket plate.
I ordered CHOPPED brisket. I guess the chef got tired if chopping so I got half and half. The brisket was mostly tasteless and dry. The sauce was not what I expected. I was not a big fan of the baked beans but they weren't terrible. The Brunswick stew was a breathtaker. First bite took my breath away because all I could taste was vinegar. Customer service is non-existent. You place your order, pick out your seating, get your drink and have a seat until they bring your food. Not a long wait at all. If you need, or even want, a to go box, you will need to get up and get it yourself. $40 for two and considering that the only thing they do is take your money and bring your food, one would expect a little bit of service. Sorry Fire it up, I won't be returning. There are much better BBQ restaurants in town.
Disappointed - have eaten here for years. It finally changed ownership. Today I stopped for a pork sandwich. First, they up charged me a couple of bucks for the lunch special because it was Saturday. OK, not a problem till it came out. Dried bun, small portion, and mediocre bbq for the low low price of $15. Not sure I'll be back. They should take a few lessons from the old owners. Old review which was 5 stars - Always great bbq. So tender. Had ribs the other day and the meat just fell off the bone. Consistently good.
This is probably one of the most disappointing restaurants I have ever been to. Aside from the fact that the “staff” was playing while we watched our food sit on the rack, when we got the food it was close to inedible. The half rib plate my fiancé ordered was chewy and very poor quality. He was able to eat maybe a quarter of 2 ribs before giving up completely. My chicken strip platter was just as bad. The chicken tasted like it was cooked in bad grease, and the chicken was chewy as well. I got sick shortly after eating them. I never leave reviews on restaurants but this was ridiculous and if I had a complaint I wouldn’t even know who to tell because the front staff was all carelessly playing.
Stopped by on our way home to TN and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the BBQ was! Best brisket I’ve ever had and the collard greens were delicious. I really hope they add that Boozy Bovine to their everyday menu *chef’s kiss*! Get in and try it before it’s no longer a special! Young lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful as well! Great experience for me, my husband and our 3 kiddos.
Stopped in for dinner tonight, me and my son ordered 1/2 rack ribs, my husband and a brisket sandwich. To start with the glasses were dirty, sticky. Every part of our meal was very very sub par. The meat as NOT fresh. It did not taste or visually look fresh. The onion rings were fried - triple fried and hard as a rock. The beans looked old did not taste them. Overall a terrible meal will not be back. Do not understand the good reviews. Bill was close to $70.
