I really enjoyed the flavors. Curry had right amount of spices. The Mac and cheese is very good. Meat was tender and melts in your mouth. Veggies were my favorite with my curry chicken. My chicken was tender it came right off the bone. My man order the pork it was so tender and delicious too. Parking: It's a small shopping center easy to find parking.
Consistently great food! I’m vegan and eat the rice and peas, steamed veggies, plantains and veggie patty. Must try! Absolutely love that they bought Caribbean food to this area! It’s literally right down the street from my house!
I dropped into FJC Friday evening before a collegiate basketball game. I had the oxtails with rice & beans. The combo came with cooked cabbage with cauliflower, broccoli and sliced carrots. I think it's primarily a takeout joint, but there were two small tables with chairs inside. The server was cheerful, friendly and helpful. She gave me a sample bite of the oxtail and rice & beans. The oxtails and rice & beans were excellent. They were tender and served in a savory broth. The rice & beans were a good compliment to the oxtails. I could eat a big bowl of this every day. The cabbage was good with good texture, though it was a little bland. Perhaps the blandness was a nice balance to the savory oxtails. I got the medium combo and it cost $16. Parking: It's located in a strip mall; parking is in front of location.
Absolutely phenomenal! The owners are incredibly kind and put a lot of care into what they do — it really shows how committed they are to serving great food. I ordered the Oxtails with a side of rice and peas, steamed cabbage, fried plantains, fried dumplings, a Jamaican patty and an Irish Moss drink. It was my first time having Oxtails and they were literally to die for — they fell off the bone so flawlessly and went amazing with the rice and peas. It’s so hard to decide what was my favorite because everything was extremely flavorful, seasoned perfectly and all around some of the best food I’ve had since moving to Kansas 2 months ago. I’m really glad I decided to give this place a try because I’ll 110% be coming back again soon.
I’ve been in this restaurant twice. The same woman has served me each time. She is very lovely. Very sweet and kind. She explained what was in each meal I questioned. Should also let me try a sample of the curried goat. So far I have eaten the jerk chicken, the garlic shrimp, the mixed vegetables, the mac & cheese, and their savory pastries. The food was delicious. And the portion sizes were great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We had the family meal and it was a lot of food, it will easily feed 4-6 people. The jerk chicken was awesome, we loved the sauce that went with it. The Mac n cheese was so good. We also really enjoyed the coco bread. The restaurant was very clean. There aren't a lot of seats so I would recommend getting takeout. We will definitely be going back.
First time trying jerk chicken and it was incredible. Spices seeped through every bite which shows great preparation of the chicken. Highly recommend any go especially if they haven't tried Jamaican cuisine. The man their that served us and took order is killing it.
This place is amazing. Tried the Jerk Chicken with rice and peas this evening. Honestly, some of the best rice and beans I've ever had. The Jerk chicken was spicy and flavorful I ordered the hot jerk, spicier the better. Plantains were perfect too!
Tried the brown stewed chicken and jerk chicken. Both were so tasty, and the cabbage and rice with peas sides were perfect. Mac and cheese wasn't anything special. Watch out for sauce you get with the chicken! Definitely would eat there again.Food: 5/5
The staff are always awesome and they were more than happy to explain Jamaican flavors and give recommendations. Without a doubt, try their beef patties and coco bread! Absolutely delicious and this place should get tons more love!
