Fresh delicious Portuguese food. Cant wait to go back for more. Rice could be a bit more flavorful but the chicken is out of this world, I thought the chicken would be BBQ and it's not you'll get the BBQ sauce in the side so that's perfect!! Second time ordering. Food is very tasty. My only issue is when you order a combo with rice and beans. They put it all together. Makes a mess and not a fan of that. Please put the beans in a separate container. I feel the portions are smaller than the place the Portuguese Tavern in Clifton. I rather go there. They only charge $20 for rack of ribs/chicken with rice & fries. Firepit needs to get meatier chicken. Barely any meat on the chicken. I order the garlic sautéed veggies and potatoes with a combo. It was good . You guys should update a few things and I’ll be back. For the time being.. I’ll go back to Clifton.

We ordered grilled chicken, fries and rice. The grilled chicken was amazing, I tried one of their Portuguese drinks and it really tasted good. The place is clean but so small and it’s very hard to find parking, so we had to park in front of one of the residential houses in Hackensack.

The price for the portions are ridiculous. The 22 oz steak was cooked to perfection, I asked for medium rare and medium rare I received. I was surprised as the steak was very thick but it managed to be well cooked. The food great all around and the smoke flavors are definitely present as it’s cooked over wood charcoal. The side of rice and beans were big enough for well over two people. The #3 combo which was the pork spare ribs and beef short ribs was amazing. Nice and juicy in the middle alongside the crispy bits on the outside with the wood smoked flavors. The combo came with the same choice of sides, rice and beans or substitute fries, but we declined as it was such large portions and didn’t feel the need to waste food. I definitely recommend this place and will be returning again. One downside is that the parking is quite hectic and small, but well worth it in order to eat here.

I had my mouth set for falling off the bone tender bbq. I ordered the combo chicken & baby back ribs with rice and salad and was a bit  disappointed. The ribs were grilled, tough and chewy. Not slow cooked tender bbq'd like I expected. The chicken, however, was good as was the salad. Rice just so, so. Service was friendly and okay. Not a fancy place. Seating for 7 tables. Big takeaway business. Parking for only 6 or so cars.

I'm a customer of Kearny's fire pit. for knowing the great service and excellent food. I stopped with my wife at this restaurant. We walked in and sat down and waited 10 minutes for someone to come and serve us. it was very hot inside the restaurant and full of flies. I love Kearny's restaurant very good food and service too. but this one left something to be desired. something else on the menu doesn't have the prices

Fairly good BBQ. The price is the best part of the meal - affordable for the portions. The pulled pork and the pork ribs were rather tough not tender like expected. The fries and rice are bland. There is a small parking lot in the back, and the inside has 2-3 small tables for seating.

I ordered 2 whole chicken to go , the tray was kind of small so I was a little weary at first , then when I got to my destination it was only 1 chicken 1/2. Just be careful when order to go the quick to take your money but never to give you everything you order, never order to go if you do just open right in front of them to check.Food: 1/5

We enjoyed our dinner chicken, pork, rice, beans and salad. Salad was quality and fresh. Good service, friendly staff. Clean place. Reasonable prices.

I usually have a good experience ordering the ribs here. This time was different. Me and family bought ribs before closing. Worst mistake you can make. They charged us for garbage. Fatty pieces where your lucky to find meat. At least 2 or 3 that was just fat.The worst ribs I ever ate. Honestly  disappointed. Made McDonald's look like a five star restaurant. Only the rice ,vegetables and fries were edible.The ribs well weren't. And we couldn't return as by the time we home our food the restaurant was closed. We may give them another shot because we have had so many pleasant experiences. But definitely  never getting ribs there again.  I don't even want to look at ribs after that.
