The donuts were not too dense but were soft, fluffy and light. The balance of flavors were on point too, sweet but not too sugary. 

In particular, the bacon and pineapple donut is amazing. I never had savory taste with my donuts before but this opened my eyes! It's just the right amount of bacon to add a subtle layer of saltiness to the overall taste. Delicious! Can't wait to visit again n very it!

It's good to have Firecakes as a dessert and coffee shop, a nice addition to the neighborhood. The space is good for this kind of shop, and it has nice outdoor seating area that works well in warm weather. Unlike the coffee shop that preceded Firecakes here, the interior space is ample, with many more seats than it had been possible. The designer donuts are good, with a nice selection of flavors and tasty options all around. It's good to have some choices that other places do not offer when you want to have a little snack or late dessert. The sizes of donuts are average, though, and not always proportionate to the pricing. Some of the specialty items have been priced differently than the other ones. Yet there is no question about the quality of the donuts. Staff is fine, but once in a while during late visits, some staff members seem ready to push the customers out the door, and that's unfortunate. Nevertheless, Firecakes is a nice place to have in any neighborhood, and it's good to have this one in Lincoln Park to add some desserts to an area that already has its fill of bars and taverns.

Firecakes is our favorite local donut shop. They have a great selection and my (rather discerning) six-year-old loves them enough to recommend them to all of our visitors. Their staff is very friendly and I love that they have some small versions of their particularly rich donuts. Also, I cannot recommend trying the pistachio old-fashioned enough. It is unusual, not too sweet, delicious, and a great departure from the norm.

A very small but quaint shop. The pastries are well-made, and they taste great. Some may say the prices are a little high, but for what you get and for the quality of the food it is well worth it. If you have a sweet tooth and are in a hurry, stop by, you can get in and out quickly.

Would have given more stars but the lady with short dark hair that served me was a rude a** .  Haven't tried my donuts yet. But hoping to give this place a chance.  The cashier was a little more pleasant.  Here's a tip.. Smile & make your guests feel welcome 😬
