Firehouse Gallery-Bordentown

Story

The Firehouse Gallery of Bordentown NJ hosts classes for children and adults throughout the year, stages exhibitions from time to time and is the studio of international artist, inventor and author Eric Gibbons. The gallery opened in 1970 and under the direction of the current owner since 1993.

Evening adult & teen classes from October through March, as well as afterschool classes for children ages 7 through 13. Students furnish their own supplies & times are listed on our main website. Classes are limited to 10.

We are most known for our annual summer art camp program, hosed in the space from July through part of August. During camp we offer intensive weekly classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, cartooning and more. All our teaching staff is certified by the State of NJ and passes an FBI background check. Our lessons have appeared in magazines and educational journals throughout the USA and were the genesis for the director’s bestselling book, “The Art Students Workbook,” noted for it integration of science, math, history, geometry, and literature.

Our camp is limited to 2 classrooms of 10 students, 2 full time teachers and an aide. Classes are split by age, generally ages 7 to 11 are in the gallery space, and ages 12 to 17 are in the studio space (though this may vary based on the ages of applicants.) Priced competitively, no talented child has been turned away for lack of funds. We offer several scholarship opportunities for families in financial crisis though these must be applied for early as classes tend to fill in the early spring. Mission

Children classes are for exploration, exposure, and skill building and are project based.

Adult & Teen Classes are individually focused in any media the student wishes to explore. We can accomodate new and experienced artists.
