My car had been making an odd loud noise and I brought it into Firestone a few weeks ago. The noise wasn't occurring that day but I still wanted to get it checked out. I am new to the area and went here on a whim. Firestone managed to find $2500 in 'necessary' repairs and work on my car, including a new brake system, an entire new set of tires, and four other repairs. I had just gotten some work done on my car a few weeks earlier with my regular mechanic who is thorough and familiar with my vehicle. There is NO WAY I could have accumulated that much damage in a short period of time, especially as just a city driver. Last week I took my car into a different mechanic in another town who did some work to my brakes for $125. That was the only issue he found. Don't waste your time here.

Was in the area and noticed a nail in one of the front tires. It was a Sunday, on Memorial Day weekend ... bad timing. Of the three tire places in the area, Firestone was the only one open. We came inside and one of the managers assisted us immediately. Given that this was the only place open on a holiday weekend, they were pretty busy. Even with the simple repair we needed, he estimated a 2 1/2 hour wait. Given that, we went to one of the area eateries to wait it out. Much to our surprise, they squeezed us in early and it was done in an hour. We were on our way quickly, and for a pretty good price. Not sure about other auto care needs, but if you need a patch on a Sunday, this is a great place to go.

I had a tire that constantly leaked air. I called this shop and talked to Matt who advised me to come for the diagnostics. I cam in 15 min and he immediately processed the vehicle . The work on the car started shortly after that. in about 35 min the car was ready. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. The whole experience was outstanding.

Conclusions: Take your car to a better shop even if you have to spend a bit more on the repair. You will sleep better at night knowing its done correctly. Pros: Friendly staff, quick. Can do oil changes and alignments competently . Cons: Shoddy workmanship, don't fix things properly, fail to identify underlying causes of problems. We have spent several thousand now on repairs for our Chevy Cruze which has less than 70,000 miles on it. First took it here because we noticed coolant leaking. Were overly excited about their cheap price compared to dealership. When they did that repair they told us that our valve cover gasket was leaking. We have now taken it to them 3 times to fix valve cover gasket. Paid nearly $1000 the second time because they also said that there were 4 or 5 small gaskets in the engine that were leaking. Trusting them, we had the work done. After taking it home from the shop we noticed, for the first time, oil on the drive way. On our way to take it back in the next day, the radiator hose flew off and our car started smoking and we had to have our car towed in, all because they didn't put the radiator hose back on right. We were then told that several other gaskets in the engine were leaking and needed to be replaced for upwards of $1600, even two gaskets that the day before they assured us were not leaking. Having lost confidence in them, we took it back to the dealership for a second opinion. None of the gaskets they said were leaking were actually leaking. Turns out all of the oil leaking issues were caused by a failed PVC valve which Firestone FAILED to identify and the oil on the gaskets firestone said were leaking was from, you guessed it, the leaking valve cover gasket. When they replaced the valve cover gasket for the second time they didn't use enough sealant, (thus the third gasket replacement by firestone). As a cherry on top, when we took are car into the dealership for our last oil change, just 2000 miles after all this gasket PVC valve business was behind us, they found that the coolant hoses firestone replaced for us are now leaking again.

I guess if you have an automatic car they might be ok, but I when I went to get in my stick shift car, it immediately started rolling back on the incline and towards their building. Luckily I was in the car already and was able to brake. They not set the parking brake, just parked it in neutral. I am surprised it stayed where it was as long as it did and we didn't hear a crash as they were handing me the keys. At first they tried to tell me that the parking brake must have disengaged because I am leaking brake fluid, but I called BS and they did end up giving me a refund for the diagnostic they did. I will not be coming back. I can't trust them to fix it if I can't even trust them to park it.
