I joined years ago when they were CS bank. I loved it then, they had great hours and very friendly staff. When first merchants bought them all that changed and they became just any other unfriendly Bank. I left them within 5 months of their transition and doubt I'd ever go back.

My husband & I decided to go with Cooper State Bank because there were a number of branches close to us, the hours were fantastic and because we were seniors, we didn't have to pay for our checks.  Since becoming First Merchant's bank, the hours are the same as any other bank and now I will have to pay $26 for checks.  Thinking seriously of changing financial institutions.

I Chose CS Bank primarily bc of the awesome hours. Since switching to Merchants, my ATM deposits take 3-4 business days, the mobile app doesn't always work on Android , and, most importantly, the bank is never open when I need it to be. There is no reason for me to stay with this bank, when they don't offer any more than my out of town credit union thru work offers. At least I have an ATM in my office and customer service is available all hours bc we have east and west coast offices.

June 20th, 2015. I have been with this bank (Clintonville) since the beginning. Tellers are awesome, managers reasonable.  That is until the new manager took over (hence the date at the beginning.)  I can tell when I'm being ef'ed with.  In the last two months, since she took over,  my checks take forever to clear, I've had a fraud block (some BS about an insurance company,)  and my pin magically doesn't work anymore.  She is thrilled with herself when I come in with a problem. Banker beware, this lady is what's wrong with modern banking.
