Story

FPC Phoenixville is a worshiping community open to people from any background, religious, spiritual or otherwise. All are welcome from any family structure, any sexual orientation, and any political affiliation. We are committed to make the facilities of the church, especially our sanctuary, accessible for all people. We are creating new opportunities for people to connect with God and to one another - so now is a great time to gather with us and together we can have an impact on our future and the church! .

About Us
We have a HEART for God…
Hearing the Word,
Embracing fellowship with believers,
Applying Jesus’ teachings,
Rejoicing through worship,
Touching the community...with God’s love.

The First Presbyterian Church of Phoenixville has been in this community for over 150 years, and we have changed as much as the community has. For the past few decades our focus has been on serving our community, particularly the most vulnerable people, providing food, clothing, shelter, assistance, and belonging. We also have a long-standing focus on music. Our congregation has a wealth of people willing to share their musical gifts, as you will certainly hear when you worship with us.

We are part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), one of the few denominations who ordain women, and one of the only ones who ordain LGBTQ folks. We also recently amended our constitution to define marriage as between two people, and not just a man and a woman.

I had a great time at the Octoberfest Breakfast on Sunday, October 15th! It was obvious that great care went into preparations for the event. Everything from the food, to the decorations, to the entertainment was simply fun and family friendly. I'm looking forward to the next get together! (Pictures are compliments of J. Baker)

I grew up in this church - literally. From the time I was born til I was a junior in high school, I attended First Presbyterian. My parents became members of this church shortly after they were married and moved to Phoenixville. My brothers and I were baptized here and eventually went through the catechism classes to become members. I even recall some of the pastors of my younger days as well. Of course I remember Rex Pedlow, possibly the longest serving pastor, or at least in my lifetime. I remember 2-3 others by face but can't recall their names at the moment.
