My cousin and I have gone to one of the best Haitian restaurants in the tri-stateNY,NJ,& CT, First Republic Lounge & Restaurant on April 16,2022. Our waiter recommended our drinks & service was great. The food was amazing,not to greasy and or oily. The drinks were okayI thought it would have been strong. It was kinda pricey in my opinion but it was worth every penny. Great service,will always get a great tip from me. It wasn’t my first time there and it won’t be my last time. I highly recommend you go there.

Excellent spot for Haitian cuisine. Beef Legume was amazing. Paired deliciously with the rice and sweet plantains. And of course the Pikliz which is always a must. The Akra for an appetizer was an excellent choice. I will admit the prices are a bit high depending on the entree of choice & the protein, but the flavor makes up for it. We did also have to wait a bit for the food to come out. Overall excellent food, would love to return.

First time having Haitian food. The food, service, atmosphere, is absolutely amazing, the drinks were nice and strong. The staff were so nice and catering. I can't believe I've been missing Haitian food for this long. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to return.

Great place and great food. I went with my cousin

I have been to this place a few times but this is my first review. When I arrived I parked on the street and walked in. I was greeted by the bartender and she was very nice and had good conversation. I ordered a sangria and the vegitarian legume with black rice to go. The sangria was pretty good and so was the punch drink I ordered. The food usually takes long to come out so I am glad I had my drink while I waited. The food finally arrived and I paid about $47 for 2 drinks and the food. When I got home I dug in and it was pretty good and there was plenty. I had a pretty good experience.

Met up with a friend to have dinner this past Sunday around 4ish and we both loved the food. I had red snapper stew with mushroom rice aka diri djon djon with sweet plantains $36- it was filling and my friend had legume with mushroom rice and green plantains and pikliz not sure how much she paid. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Bathroom was clean. The music was s nice mix of kompa, it was nicely dimmed nice night out with the girls, family or a date. Waitress was pleasant but constantly had to keep asking for someone for more water that was one of the cons. The 2nd con was that some children were allowed to run and scream around the open floor area when I arrived but the family left about 20mins after. One of the owners, Stan, came out to ask how was everything, which was nice. He was very nice and welcoming. I would definitely return to try other dishes.

Hands down the best meal I’ve had the pleasure of tasting. This dish was phenomenal. I asked our server to tell the chef how amazing it was. The atmosphere was welcoming, the menu is small, so I can understand why the food was so delicious. If I’m still ever in New Jersey again, I’ll definitely make a point to go back to First Republic.

They rush you to leave the table so rude and unprofessional. We need another Haitian lounge in the area,  bigger space with nicer and more professional employees.

Okay, so first of all, I NEVER usually give 5 stars at a restaurant, but I had to make an exception today because what my taste buds just experienced is just out of this world!!  OMG, I’ve been living in NJ for 5 years and my quest for good Haitian food has been extremely difficult until today!!!!  This was the best Haitian food I have ever tasted in my life!!! Holy cow! I’m so excited that I had to leave this review in the middle of me eating my meal!  Great food, great atmosphere, great staff, and such an incredible experience!  Wow!!!!!!
