Worship. Grow. Serve.
First United Methodist Downtown Campus - 200 West High Street
Our Downtown Community holds two traditional worship service every Sunday morning at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Each service is about one hour in length.
Sunday School meets at 9:50 AM every Sunday.
Our downtown service is in a beautiful historic sanctuary built in 1908, and is part of our legacy dating back to 1789. There is wonderful singing using hymns and anthems, meaningful liturgy, inspiring preaching, and warm, vibrant music.
We are in the heart and "hub" of downtown Lexington, and we often say we are "downtown for good" meaning we are here to stay as an urban, historic "city on a hill" and we are here for the "good we can do" close to the hurting humanity of the streets.
Our sanctuary truly is a sanctuary where we find rest, peace, time for prayer--but also to move toward being with one another and then out into the world.
Making disciples across the street and around the world.
