Why did I wait so long to do this?  Suggest that you get fitted before you purchase your first bicycle, but it's never to late.  A good bike fit is just as important (if not more important) than perfecting your running cadence and swimming stroke.  Highly recommend that you visit Joe at the shop. They will meet or exceed your expectations. You will be impressed!  PS Joe is a competitive triathlete so he speaks the language and understands our needs and where we are coming from.  Highly recommend!

If you like to ride with more speed, power, and comfort, then this is the only place to go. Joe and his staff are both friemdly & professional, and will definitely take care of you.

I had been "professionally" fit before being fit by Joe at Fitwerx, twice to be exact.   I hadn't.  Not only did Joe's fit totally transform my riding experience,  the labor and the attention to detail done on the bike was fantastic.  In an industry where every shop says they have an "expert fitter" it's tough to know what's going on.  These guys know what they're doing.  Beyond that, they were patient, and the experience was pleasant and professional.  I recommend Fitwerx to anyone serious about getting their bike right if you enjoy cycling.

Thanks to Joe and Luke @ FitWerx NYC/NJ, I have my dream custom steel bike.  It looks and feels amazing, thanks to a seriously thorough fit process and Joe patiently talking through hundreds of questions/options.  Joe worked directly to my budget point, never trying to pressure, sell, or rush me.  A very lengthy experience (due to delays from the particular frame manufacturer), but a great result.

I had a really great experience at Fit Werx yesterday. From the beginning I could tell this was a very special service I was receiving. Joe talked with me for almost two hours answering any questions I had not only about fit but about triathlon as well and everything else I was curious about. 

The fitting process took a long time as well I was thinking that it was taking too long, but he kept changing things until everything was as good as possible. The first part was a lot of stretching and body movements which he was recording many different pieces of information to use for the fitting. The second part was me riding a fit cycle and using video and other computer analyses to not only help him find the best position for me, but also let me see what was going on. This actually turned out to be a lesson for me because I didn't know about things that I was doing wrong and needed to work on to become a better rider. 

One of the best things about the fitting and Joe in particular was how he was very understanding that I was a college student on a budget and didn't want to try and sell me something that didn't bring in as much value for me as it would cost. At the same time he did tell me all of the things I could buy and when I should buy them etc. It means a lot to me that someone who runs a shop would do that, because I would probably have spent a lot more money if he told me to buy a bunch of stuff. 

In total the experience was over 5 hours long and I spend 370 non taxed dollars on the fitting. 350 for the fitting and 20 dollars for the bike shop maintenance which was more than worth it. He also gave me a flash drive with all of the information we talked about including the videos and my fit numbers to reference. There were also a lot of detailed notes in there as well which will be very useful for future reference because we talked about so much it's difficult to remember everything.

I will definitely be going back to the store in the future to get a new bike and probably get a triathlon bike. Joe told me that I can email him anytime about any questions I have about pretty much anything. Even though I am and will continue to be a client, I feel like a friend as well.
