Great atmosphere, service, and the food was all fantastic. Our server, Angela, was very helpful. From apps, to beer selection, to food recommendations she couldn't have been better. We had a Piggy Pretzel to start, followed with pulled pork nachos and an excellent brick oven pizza. My granddaughter had a house salad with pulled chicken. Every single item was wonderful. Serving size was generous. We brought at least a full meal home. It will not go to waste. Definitely will return.

The staff was nice and the size of the place was deceivingly large.  The beer prices were a little high, but decent selection and poured right.  I had a sampler platter and the ribs were fantastic!  The pork was ok, a little more dry than I like but on par for smoked pork.  I was not a fan of the chicken sausage, didn't really like the consistency so it was hard to focus on the flavor.  The corn, corn bread, and fries were very good and I normally do not like corn bread.  They had an apple dumpling for dessert that was good, but would have been excellent with a scoop of ice cream rather than the whipped cream they used.  Our waitress was great; knew her stuff, great attitude, and timely response to our table before anything was actually needed.  The parking lot needs to be a lot bigger, the place was popular but it was manageable.  Overall a good experience and when I go back to the mountains I will go there again.

We had a chance to visit Flat Rock Wood Room twice in our travels to the area and enjoyed our meals both times. The service was great and the staff was friendly.

One of my favorite items was the amazing moist and slightly sweet corn bread! I could have made a meal of it.  Their apple vinaigrette dressing was so delicious on my salad that I bought a bottle to bring home.

This place is very popular with locals and can be crowded.  It's in an old building that adds charm.  It's very clean and the staff is friendly.  Service is good. They have a wonderful covered outdoor deck.  People in Western North Carolina  like their style of BBQ.  We're from Texas and didn't like it.  We also thought it was a bit overpriced.  $13.50 for a sandwich with one side.  If you like WNC-style BBQ then you'll love this place.  Very easy to see - it's right on the edge of the road. Great service. The menu was explained in detail by our server along with specials before ordering (which almost made it more difficult to order because everything on the menu sounded amazing). The owner personally greeted us at our table and made sure our experience was up to his personal expectations. My business partner and I finally decided to order 2 dishes to split. I can't begin to describe how amazing the food was. I highly suggest making a trip to the wood room no matter how far the drive. I assure you it will be worth it.
