My cousin went in needing help with a doctor's note for work and in need of treatment for some sort of severe bronchial virus that's left her with a reoccurring fever, weakness, dizziness and severe head, chest and throat pain caused by constant hard coughing. We haven't been able to find success with treating the cough with regular over the counter syrups or home remedies like steam or tea with honey and it's been greatly affecting her ability to do things like eat and sleep over the past few days. Sometimes it's all she can do to breathe. Her grandmother took her in with an appointment with Dr. Paul where they sat in an empty waiting room for a good 15 minutes or more, making them almost late for the appointment even though the woman on the back counter could obviously hear that someone was out there due to my cousin's uncontrollable coughing. The nurse, Adrian, was great; a very kind man and she was able to get the note she needed for her employer, but the doctor promised her that he'd call in a perscription for a stronger cough syrup for her that night before he went home. After waiting a few hours we went to the store where the perscription was supposed to be sent and she was told that they hadn't received any calls. She went home, suffered through the night with no sleep or food, then called the next day, checking in with the pharmacy multiple times over the day. Nothing. We've also made multiple calls to the office through out the day, leaving messages and trying different lines and nobody picks up or has called us back. We're not sure what to do. This is her third day with little food and sleep and the cough has gotten so bad that it's caused her throat and nose to start bleeding. We could really use that perscription, but at this point it seems like the only thing we'll be able to do is go make a trip to Urgent Care that we can't afford and hope they'll be able to help.
