Florence Fire Rescue proudly provides the finest fire protection, rescue, hazardous materials control, and emergency medical response to the citizens of Florence, Alabama. We average between three thousand to thirty-five hundred calls per year.

Story

Florence, Alabama is a wonderful place to retire. Located along the scenic Tennessee River, where one could lose their selves in the beauty of their surroundings. Florence is the county seat of Lauderdale County, Alabama, located in the northwest corner of the State. According to the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau, approximately 40,000 citizens reside in the City of Florence.

Florence is a city that is well protected by five fire stations located throughout the city. Station One along with the Administrative Offices is located at 402 South Wood Avenue. Station Two is located at 3722 Florence Boulevard. Station Three is located at 1301 North Wood Avenue. Station Four is located at 3501 Huntsville Road, and Station Five is located at 901 Cox Creek Parkway.

We average between three thousand to thirty-five hundred calls per year. We also provide support to fourteen volunteer fire departments located throughout the county. We provide fire suppression, technical rescue, fire prevention programs, EMS, Haz-Mat, and many other emergency services to the residents and visitors of Florence.

Florence Fire Rescue has ninety-two members protecting approximately 30 square miles in the corporate limits of Florence and providing services for Alabama Emergency Management Mutual Aid System and Alabama Homeland Security. Some examples of these services include: Confined Space Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, Trench Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Surface Water Rescue and Hazardous Materials.
