Love this place. Scenic and very interesting. Lots to see especially if you like pre-history. Trails are very nice. Very relaxing way to spend the afternoon or morning. Picnic areas are nice. No dogs allowed in the park. There is a dog area--in case your pooch has to go. Not a lot of shade for parking if you leave your pooch in the car.

Visited not knowing what to expect only to be pleasantly surprised by the amount of space and well-kept walking trails to explore. Very educational and unique. Be weary when traveling with pets. Like most national parks/monuments, pups are not allowed on the trails. Although, there is an area to walk and let them stretch their legs. Worth the visit.

My paleobotany class toured the Florissant beds with some post-docs and it was amazing. The informative signs are really helpful and interesting and the history of the site is pretty neat. Even if you're not a fossil nerd, this place is beautiful and a great walk.

Excellent place for people of all ages interested in ancient life and ancient geography. While you can't go out to discover fossils - most have already been unearthed by treasure hunters and tourists - they do have a nice collection in the museum. There are also several petrified redwood tree stumps on the nature walk.

I love nature so naturally this place was a must. Has many walking trails, and beautiful sites to see. The little fossil museum inside the facilities is really cool and full of information! The park rangers are very nice. Don't be afraid to talk to them for a bit cause they have so much cool information. 5$ per person and the receipt is good for 6days after. (we unfortunately had to leave the next day)
