I come to this comic shop once a month when I go on road trips. This is one of the best comic book shops in the bay area with plenty of newer copies of new releases. The staff is always friendly.

Well I THOUGHT I’d left this review a long time ago, but it seems as though it’s only today I’m actually telling you how awesome Flying Colors Comics & Other Cool Stuff is! If you haven’t been in this ‘comics and more’ store within Oak Grove Plaza, come check them out.

I’m not personally much of a comic book person, but I can appreciate the collection they have here and the knowledgeable staff. I had a work project a few years back that involved the valuation of a collection of comic books (none of which turned out to be of much value) but the store owner was super nice and took his time looking them over and talking with me.

I live nearby, so sometimes I walk over just to browse the aisles a bit before stopping next door for ice cream or groceries. This unique store and it’s staff are definitely a fun contribution to our neighborhood and this plaza.

Great place for Free Comic book day & all around place to get your weekly pull when your in the area. Be good humans when participating in free comic book day try to but something on the way out it helps support the stores who participate. The stores actually purchase the comics from the distributor & are not free for the store owners. ***Cool Tip for the kids*** Flying color like to promote literacy proficiency by giving that extra comic to those who bring their library card on Free  Comic Book Day. My parents sent me to high school near Flying Colors in the mid 90s as I was a troubled youth from a few towns over. I bought my first comic here on a lark after getting a soda from C&B. It soon became my shop of choice replacing the shop I had bought my comics at for years. After moving away for college and life, I was able to bring my family back to Concord a few years ago and one of the first things I did was go back into "my" LCS. The staff remained friendly and ridiculously helpful. The pretension you often find at shops where the need to "out nerd" or "one up" someone when asking questions is nowhere to be seen. It's simply a wonderfully run small business. One I'm happy and proud to support.

This shop easily makes into the top 5 best things about living in Concord.

My wife grew up coming here and so it's a special place.  If you think about how physical media seems to be dying (Barnes and Noble), the fact that this little comic book store is still alive is amazing.  I get my fill of Dark Knight materials anytime I drop by.
