FLYNNDOG provides a unique space for traditional, non-traditional and site specific exhibitions that have featured local and international artists.
FLYNNDOG is a community art space that serendipitously resulted from the adaptive reuse of an abandoned warehouse on Flynn Avenue. Since 1999, FLYNNDOG has provided a unique space for traditional, non traditional and site specific exhibitions that have featured local and international artists.
Typically, exhibits run for 6 to 8 weeks. Opening receptions for the artists are usually held on the First Friday of the month as part of Burlington’s ArtWalk. Presentations or other events related to the exhibitions (and sometimes unrelated, for that matter,) are also offered.
This community art space has survived without grants, sales, donations, sales or staff. The FLYNNDOG might even be regarded as a figment of the community imagination, as it is sustained by its own momentum with occasional help and inspiration from friends, artists and other angels. Bren organizes the flow of exhibitions and the opening receptions.
