Forest park is a great place to take a walk, long or short. It's also a wonderful picnic spot, whether on Art Hill or many of the other expanses of well kept grass. It's fun to walk the trails and explore - you can walk between the museums and the zoo using the trails. I like to stand still and imagine what it would have been like to be standing in the same spot in 1904 during the World's Fair!

Forest Park IS St Louis. It's a beautiful, historical landmark with amazing features that should be visited and supported by local residents and visitors alike. Whether you enjoy it for a walk, a run, a picnic or you avail yourself of the zoo, the Jewel Box or any of its amenities, you will not regret the visit. The sense of overall beauty and history is palpable. The opportunities for learning and enjoyment are unlimited. An entire vacation could center around all the grand offerings to be found at fabulous Forest Park. I'm proud to be a St Louisan and love our amazing park. I consider it to be a natural AND national treasure.

Forest Park is great. Lots to do and lots for free. The zoo is awesome and can be totally free. You have to pay for some things like the train and Children's Zoo section but that's optional. So many great things to see without spending a penny. The Art Museum is also free. There is golf and lots of trails. The Science Center is great and also free with a pay parking lot across hwy 40 and a free one in Forest Park. I wish the free one was bigger. We love the Zoo and buy a membership every year which supports the Zoo and saves money on the pay parking lots and "extras".

A beautiful area of St. Louis, including the famous St. Louis zoo. The zoo is free! It's also a full zoo that takes several hours to get through if you want to see it all. Parking for the zoo is $15 on site but if you are able to score a parking spot one the street it is free. We were able to get street parking and had to walk about 2 minutes to the front gate. There is food available in the zoo that's not overpriced like many others. Food is decent quality. Constant construction and updating makes this a beautiful Oasis in the middle of St. Louis.

So many amazing things to do a forest park. I highly suggest visiting the boat house and then take a walk just north to one of the only kids playground that has swings and such for kids with physical limitations. The flowers are beautiful. After you could venture towards art Hill and take in the amazing views.
