Came out for my birthday dinner and boy was I happy! This pizza is the closest thing to real Italian NY pizza I have had in FL in YEARS! Best best place to go! So worth the trip!

there are several Italian places in the DeLand area but unfortunately this isn’t one i’d necessarily recommend. we were greeted by a hostess and seated right away since it was empty but it was several minutes before a waitress came by to get our drink order. after our drinks arrived, we asked for a coupe more minutes to review the menu. we regretted that as the waitress didn’t come back for quite a while. we finally placed our order- i had the Eggplant Margarita pizza and my friend had the Baked Penne. as we waited for our order, the restaurant filled up and we noticed that all of the tables around us received a bread basket and bowl of olive oil but we did not. the waitress then arrived with my pizza a few minutes later but the Baked Penne didn’t come until almost 10 minutes after that. the crust on the pizza was good but the rest of the dough was thin and soggy. the slices of fried eggplant were more breading than eggplant. the Baked Penne was okay- the sauce was quite clumpy due to the ricotta and it didn’t have much flavor, seemed pretty under-seasoned. the overall vibe of the restaurant is that of a typical Italian-American place with Tuscan-style decor and murals, although, there was a specific artwork that i actually really liked. the staff was friendly, just seemed to be a little forgetful even before it filled up. unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first Italian place i’d recommend to someone in DeLand.

Margarita pizza was pretty disappointing, was more of a regular cheese pizza with a bit of basil.  The tomatoes on top… did not exist. The cheese had good flavor and the sauce wasn’t bad but the under crust was soggy. I’m The saving grace of the night was the shrimp scampi was quite good and we will likely return just for that.

Amazing bruchetta for appetizer. Chicken Sorrentino for dinner.  Go hungry, leave satisfied with plenty of leftovers!

Check your food before you leave the restaurant. This is what I got for the bruschetta, less than half of what you get when you dine in. I was offered a bigger one, only if I return that one. Got a bag with a few pieces of cheese and the rest of the ingredients. Wasted $15… this is the second incident, so I won’t be going back for anything. I called and the manager blamed the cooks.

I don't think is a better option for a great Pizza and beers we had the the service we ever had in a restaurant we recommend this place we definitely will come back again.

The pizza was really good here and this us coming from a born and raised New Yorker who knows good pizza. Probably one of the best I've tasted here in Florida. The menu looked good but I only tried the pizza.  Service was equally good and the ambiance it warm and inviting. Nice decor and setting.  I will certainly be returing and recommend a visit if you are in the area.

I am only giving the one star due to customer service is horrible. Great food, very good Italian food coming from a lady that is 100% Italian - and nothing is usually better than home cooked. But the one star is for the horribly rude  lady that answers the business phone terrible business.  I have been wanting to order several dishes for a Christmas party. The woman was rude both days I called this week. I have never had such bad, difficult customer service in my life to try and give someone business  from this woman that doesn’t even own the restaurant . Sad for the owner, that I made my second call today to order my food and ready to pay over the phone all food to be picked up and she was so nasty and lack of service - I choose not to order. I will take my business elsewhere. Great food , but your front line is the face of your business  word to the owner . I will seek out another Italian restaurant for quality food but most of all above and beyond customer service. Word to the wise - need to get rid of that lady or talk to her about her attitude on the phone to a customer wanting to purchase food from your establishment. Sadly I will find another good Italian restaurant, even if I have to travel to another near by town.

I cannot speak to the pizza, which I'm told is decent, but I can only hope it's better than the rest of the menu.  I think one should reasonably expect lentil soup to contain...lentils.  This version did not.  It's a bad sign when you can actually count the lentils in the bowl. It was passable vegetable soup but definitely not lentil.  The calamari was greasy, and tasteless. Overall, this was a culinary disaster and I will not be back...

I live out of town and contacted Forno Bello to confirm a Surprise Birthday Party for my 76 year old Uncle who lives in Deland, FL.  The service I received from Ashley was above and beyond my expectations !  I requested specific details and she followed through with all of them. All of the servers involved were incredible.  The food was exceptional  hats off to the Chef and the ambiance at Forno Bello was perfect.  My Uncle was beyond excited and we will return to dine at Forno Bello again soon.  Thank you for making this birthday celebration so meaningful for my Uncle !
