A bit of a pain to get on base, but if you want to see tanks, trucks and tons of well kept military equipment it is great. Full history of the division and it's campaigns are also on display. Recommended.

I work here at the moment while waiting to depart from the army at the moment. Great museum, it’s free, we have plenty of history and a “Kids Command Center.” There is something for everyone. We are open to the Public Monday-Friday 0900-1600 (9am-4pm) and Saturday from 1000-1500 (10am-3pm)

So much information can be learned while visiting the Fort Bliss and Old Ironsides Museums on the grounds of Ft. Bliss. If you are interested in military history, you must visit. The museum is located next to where the "old" commisary used to be....very easy to locate; very convenient. There are some terrific displays of items, equipment, vehicles from several war eras, etc., and you will gain information of the history of Ft. Bliss. It is great to see and hear children so excited to see certain examples of aircraft up close.....not just one in a photograph in a book....so wonderful and important in teaching children of pieces of historical significance. Not only do I enjoy the educational and historical aspects from the museum, my time and visits also bring me a sense of comfort and serenity in remembering a very special uncle who served six years with "Old Ironsides", served as a major in WWII, and always spoke so fondly of memories while at Ft. Bliss. I hope you will visit...will be an enriching and rewarding experience!

Why anyone would rate this lower than 5 is nuts. It's free and it's awesome.

Large and has a lot of memorabilia but doesn't have the museum atmosphere.
