Very friendly staff. Very clean and we'll taken care of grounds. Nice and quiet get a way.

This is a great State Park in Texas! It is a very family oriented park. It has a lake for swimming, fishing, kayaking, boating or just plain relaxing and gazing out at! There is a birding dock. Trails to walk. They have a fantastic activities room with a great display of the history of the CCC.  The nature activities room is the best I've ever seen at a park ( better than most children's museums) Numerous hands-on activities for children to do. The park also has the Jr. Ranger backpacks available to do while in the park. It is within a five minute drive of the historical Fort Parker site. You can tour the fort and learn about the history of early settlers in Texas and the kidnapping of nine year old Cynthia Ann Parker in 1836 by Comanche Indians. Five people in total were taken but the other four were ransomed back. Cynthia lived with the Comanche Indians for 25 years until she was kidnapped again by Texas Rangers 1860 at the battle at Pease River in the Texas Panhandle becoming separated from her two sons and husband. 
Anyways, this is a wonderful hidden gem State Park in Texas!!!

Kinda small for a state park but really well maintained. Park staff are very friendly. Stayed in a shelter which was clean and comfortable. Be sure to take extra sheets to pin up to the inside of the window if you want privacy. Wife said the bathrooms were good.

Can't say enough about this state park. We RV's there right by the lake loved it. Gorgeous sunset!
