Fortuna's public branch library is open to all and features a wide selection of books, movies, and music as well as Internet access, black and white printing and copies.
The Fortuna Library is a free, public library that is one of twelve branches belonging to the Humboldt County Library system.
We offer a wide selection of adult fiction and non-fiction books, as well as sections for teenagers, children, seniors, and Spanish language readers. The library carries a variety of current magazines, local newspapers, new and classic movies on DVD and VHS, and audiobooks on CD. We also have music CDs in styles ranging from rock, pop, and country to holiday, reggae, and religious.
We can order books for you from other libraries in Humboldt County, and often times we can request books that aren't in Humboldt County from outside of the area for just $1. The library also has five computer stations that are open to the public. Patrons may use the computers for one hour per day, and library staff are always happy to make reservations for use.
