I chose this as an activity to celebrate my 35th birthday. I was a little concerned that I would be out of place because we did not have any kids with us, but I had nothing to worry about. It was a very relaxing day. The fossils were everywhere once you know what you are looking for. There was a gentleman there that answered any questions anyone had. There were several kids at the park while we were there and they were having so much fun. What kids doesn't love digging in the dirt? Take a trip there if you have kids or not.

The fossil pit sits in the blazing sun. It's just a big rocky pit. Not exactly as exciting as we had hoped. Found a few fossils. Don't go on a hot day. Clean restrooms and nice parking. We did not use the trails- so can't review that part.

A great idea for safe (and guaranteed) fossil hunting! We swing through here when we travel from MI to TN or PA. It doesnt require any prep if you don't have time. It can be a very quick stop, or an all day, picnic-out kind of event. Clean bathrooms. We'll kept, overall.

Wonderful place to bring the kids. Look for fossils (not huge but cool), bike, jog or walk the trail. Even geocaches here.

My kids (5, 3, 1) had a blast. We brought buckets, toothbrushes, and spray bottles with us. Luckily, there were some people there helping to break some rocks open. Otherwise, it would have been harder to find the fossils. We ended up with some great ones!
