A Family Oriented Vet Clinic

Story

Fox Vet Hospital was founded by Dr. Charles W. Fox in 1951. We currently have 3 doctors Dr. Samuel Speck III , Dr. Joe Urig, Dr. Lisa Fox Wright (Dr. W. Fox's Daughter). We are a primary care clinic and we have digital radio-graph (dental and general), ultrasound, hospitalization, and in-house lab capabilities. We are not a 24 hour practice however we do provide on-call access to our doctors for questions and general health issues. We are open 6 days a week, M-F (9-7) and Sat (8:30-12) Please call for an appointment as we are an appointment based clinic. We also have limited general care for avian, rodent, and small mammals. We provide boarding services for clients only. We have an on-site crematorium to provide cremation services to our clients. We also provide paw prints that are hand made as part of our euthanasia plus cremation services. Dr. Lisa provides acupuncture, holistic and herbal medicine, and food therapy consultation as well.

After 20 plus years of taking my pets there and recommending family and friends, I have changed veterinarians. My dog was having a problem with his skin. They wanted me to wait 3 weeks. I call another veterinarian and the got me in the next day. Also, I called to get my daughter's cat in on an emergency basis. I was willing to pay the same day fee, except they refused to see him. The receptionist said they were closing in an hour. I should have tried to schedule the emergency better (yes, I'm being sarcastic). Sadly, her cat had to be put down. I'm not saying they could have done anything, but they didn't even try. That was the last straw from a very long list of reasons I left.

I have been going here for years. I've had all my animals there at one time or another. About a year ago I noticed a change in culture there. All based on money and fees. There has been vet staffing issues and now if you call its a 2 to 3 week wait because of lack of help. I cannot wait that long if the animal is in distress and I wont pay their extortion fee (ER fee) to see the animal. After almost 20 years and 10's of thousands of dollars spent on visits and procedures, I will be taking my pets elsewhere. You lost my business.

The staff at Fox Veterinary are always kind and understanding. The vets we have seen for my girlfriend's aging cat and my anxious dog have been amazing. The facility is quaint and clean. We started going here when we lived in Elyria and I continue to bring my animals here even though it's and hour drive from east Cleveland. We are talked to with respect and our questions are answered thoroughly. The cat has had her teeth cleaned here several times and we've had no problems, she was well looked after. My dog is calmly talked to by the vets and assistants when he's being administered shots. I highly recommend anyone who loves their pets to bring them to Fox Vet.

Dr. Lisa is an absolute hero. Six years ago my cat had full blown liver failure. She was given a 20% chance of survival. She was knocking on death's door, yet somehow, Dr. Lisa managed to save her. Six years later, I have a happy & healthy little girl. Topaz, her big brother Garfield, & myself can never thank her enough. However, we are so thankful to have her, that we will never go anywhere else.
