Story

Franklin Park Veterinary Hospital opened in June of 2009. We are proud of our full-service facility which complements the 18 years of experience and advanced veterinary education of our principal veterinarian Dr. Thomas Larrimer, V.M.D. Here you will find a warm, friendly, neighborhood welcome along with quality professional veterinary care. We provide your pet with an extensive range of routine and specialized care. Our comprehensive veterinary services address your concerns in a friendly atmosphere.

The current model at most Vet's offices is to play on heartstrings and charge an arm and a leg for services and add ons. It is truly mind blowing how other offices take advantage of people because of the love for their pets. I can not begin to express appreciation for the way Dr Larrimer fairly prices his services and treats people. It's about being a vet first here and doing what's right for your pet. What amazed me was him telling me to get a script filled somewhere else because he can not buy the medicine in bulk and as inexpensive. I have always lived by the motto "Treat others as you wish to be treated." I can easily see that IS the case here also.

I was rushed through the 2nd scheduled appointment for our new puppy who had ear and neck issues. Appointment was more like a car inspection where they know the problem and try to fix it, but with no explanation to the owner as to what is actually wrong. Left office with questions. Told me feed my dog cheap dog food because if/when the dog has problems they know how to treat it... Vets have no bedside manner. No on-call doctor for serious after hour injury. If your appointment is scheduled on a Saturday and it is around 12/when they close,be prepared to be pushed in and out quickly so they can leave.

Friendly people with great pet advice and very good pricing. Both the docs and the assistants are nice and knowledgeable.

If you are looking for the best Veterinarian in the Pittsburgh area, you have found him here at Franklin Park Veterinary Hospital! Dr. Larrimer & his staff are top notch when it comes to care, price, professionalism, services & flexibility. My most recent experience there is a good example off those... My 12yrs Boxer/JRT mix, Lucy, had sustained an injury to her eye while spending the weekend with family (& their 3 dogs). We had no idea how it happened or how severe it might be, but it looked pretty painful. Since it was on a Sunday & not during office hours, I immediately went to the FPVH Facebook page & sent them a private message explaining the situation. Within the hour someone from FPVH had replied asking me to call them first thing on Monday & they would do everything they could to get her in, which is exactly what they did. Attending to Lucy's eye injury so promptly was only one of the many times Dr. Larrimer & his staff have taken care of us so quickly & professionally. Dr. Larrimer has also removed a massive, fist-sized mass from Lucy's chest a few years ago, and prior to that, they treated her for an extremely bad ear infection. There is seemingly nothing the FPVH can't do. They treat you like family there! The office & exam rooms are very welcoming & inviting. They give you a feeling of being welcomed into Dr. Larrimer's own home, but fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment & supplies. We found our way to FPVH through a friend's recommendation & have forever been grateful. I hope this review can do the same for you & your pet! Our eternal thanks to FPVH's Dr. Larrimer & staff!!!

We love FPVH even though it takes us 45 min to get there. Our dogs have never been treated better anywhere in PGH.
