Doug is an amazing CPA.  In addition to doing our taxes, he helps us plan for the future.  He helped us avoid some major investing pitfalls by explaining the tax consequences, and recommending better courses of action.  Now that we have started a family, he has recommended tax planning strategies to ensure we have adequate college funds for our young daughter when the time comes.  We've never had this level of service from a CPA, and he's also a great guy, and available whenever I reach out.  I highly recommend Doug.

Owning a family dental practice with 3 offices necessitates having a competent CPA.  Unfortunately, my previous accountant did not thoroughly explain some key tax concepts to me, which resulted in a very large, adverse impact on my tax situation last year.  During a complimentary consultation, Doug explained how the purchased "goodwill" of my practice had to be amortized over 15 years, despite the fact that I am actually paying the loan back over only 10 years.  That means I'm currently paying more out than I can deduct for taxes.  I now understand that although the excess loan payments I'm making for goodwill are not currently deductible, they will be in years 11-15 with no corresponding cash outlay as the loan will already be repaid.  Doug took the time to help me understand the big picture, and develop a tax plan and investing strategy for the future.  In addition, I'm able to more accurately estimate my income and make appropriate quarterly payments, avoiding underpayment penalties.  In addition to being professional and knowledgeable, Doug is also very friendly, and easy to talk to.  I've already recommended him to several of my friends who have their own dental practices, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
