The restaurant was a welcome find since on our way back from Mackinaw on 75 we couldn't find a reasonable steakhouse that wasn't a golf course.  The waitresses were very kind and the place was full.  It was a mix between a bar and a restaurant, easy to find and inviting. The food looked wonderful, was tell, prepared and average price for quality fare. My daughter got the trout which she loved, I got the prime rib which was tender, but bland and my DB got the ribs, which he said were tasty but a small portion.  Would definitely return!

I highly recommend and we will be going again. Our waitress was amazing, I believe her name was Cathy. She was extremely helpful and did a wonderful job, even informing us that everything they can is made from scratch, I hope we have her again. My calzone was awesome with the homemade dough, was unique in there. Left side of building was restaurant, middle bar, and right bowling alley. We bowled to and was a good time.

Fred's is that all around fun place for any occasion. If bowling and food or drinks are on your agenda, then this is the place to visit. 
 
Pros: roomy parking, beer sales, fine dining. professional staff
           large bowling lane, comfortable prices. Fun for all ages. 
           Family friendly atmosphere and fresh baked pizza made to order.
Cons: tendency to be noisy. The dining area can be noisy due to the
            high volume of the overhead speakers which are located in ceiling

The host, actually one of the owners, was wonderfully accommodating to our large group.  We changed our request   for seating at the last minute and were graciously granted our request.  The server was prompt and the food was hot as well as delicious.  For a special treat, come in for dinner fir the walleye, and you can never go wrong with the terrific burger or their pizza.  Our favorite go-to place!

This place is one of the nicer places you could visit in the town of Roscommon. We visited on a Thursday night and the place was hopping. Though the sign said to wait for the server to be seated, we felt like we were greeted with an uncomfortable amount of attitude. We ordered a medium pizza with two toppings. The service was quite slow but the place was unusually busy due to a power outage. The pizza was good though the toppings were extremely light. There were bare spots not covered with cheese, there were literally four pieces of mushroom and seven pieces of green pepper. Especially unappealing when toppings are $1.39 each. The server was pleasant and nice but our drinks were not refilled once the entire duration of our stay. I'm not sure I would return.
