Story

Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, is the most common type of arthritis. In osteoarthritis, the surface layer of cartilage breaks down and wears away. This allows the bones under the cartilage to rub together resulting in pain, swelling, and loss of motion of the joint. Although in some people it progresses quickly, in most individuals joint damage develops gradually over years.Recent advances in arthritis care now make it possible to provide long lasting relief from pain without the need for major joint replacement.

Visco-Supplement Joint Fluid Therapy is a non-surgical, non-pharmacologic therapy for knee osteoarthritis. Supartz injections contain Hyaluronic Acid, which acts as a lubricant for the knee joint. Supartz reduces the friction between the bones in the knee.

The injections are given in a series of 3 – 5 weekly doses, with many patients experiencing significant relief after 3 injections. We combine sport medicine and physical therapy treatments that have been clinically proven to improve the effects of the treatment.

All injections are performed with a local anesthetic, and are assisted with ultrasound guidance to ensure 100% accuracy of placement into the knee joint.
