I am completely shocked and outraged by the unacceptable behavior of Freeman Funeral home in Freehold NJ. My family is absolutely outraged and disgusted with the unacceptable, unprofessional, dispassionate treatment we received from the Freeman Funeral Home and the Marlboro Memorial Cemetery. My cousin and wife had to lay their only son to rest on June 09,2020 and experienced what can only be described as heartless behavior. We were able to have the wake services, but not able to lay my cousin a proper rest for the burial ceremony because of a casket covering that we were not notified about having until very last minute, Holding the family hostage over excessive extra costs . I would never recommend this Funeral home to any family to use,
I cannot thank the staff at Freeman Funeral Home enough! It was such a difficult time in our families' life when our loved one passed that we really needed the right company to guide us in the right direction. After speaking with a couple of them we choose Freeman Funeral over the others. Their compassion and thoughtfulness during this time made it easier for us not to have to worry about the details The service was lovely as well the burial. I am forever thankful to the staff for making this time in our lives alittle less stressful. God Bless you all.
I cant say enough about the Freemans Natalee and Hannah walked me thru every step and helped us have a beautiful going home for my beloved aunt. Handling this from out of state could have been a difficult task but they made it so simple. Caring Concern and Professional sum them up
Beware of this funeral home!!! My nephew’s service was June 9th and we were not able to lay my nephew to rest because of an uncommunicated cost of $950 for a casket covering that my brother found out about as he walked into the funeral home. Freeman refused to bury my nephew unless we paid. My brother didn’t have the $950 available and no offer was made for financial arrangements. We left the funeral home and they buried him without any family or clergy present. We are outraged by their lack of compassion. They are disgraceful and they should be investigated and shut down. How can they do this to a grieving family. Don’t send your loved ones here ever!
I find it weird to review a funeral home but I’ve become compelled to write this review. I was here about a month ago for my wife’s aunts viewing and my family made the right choice. It was amazing to see how beautiful she was and I couldn’t believe how “normal” she looked. My wife’s family was crying tears of joy to seeing their beloved sister for the last time.. I highly recommend this funeral home and my wife’s and my family will continue to use them for our needs.
Never in my 62 years have I seen behavior like I witnessed on Tuesday June 9th at The Freeman Funeral home in Freehold NJ. I have buried both parents and functioned as executor. I know a dignified and respectful process when I see one. Freeman was nowhere near dignified OR respectful. They demonstrated a total lack of professionalism and basic communication by omitting a line item for a Masoguard which was supposedly required. They ambush the grieving family ON THE DAY OF, to the tune of $950.00 and offered NO options for a pay plan so the funeral could conclude with the proper  burial. Instead, one of the staff members of the funeral home stands up and proclaims to a grieving gathering of family and friends that the burial will NOT be occurring that day as planned. Can you imagine sitting in a funeral home and hearing that ? Has anyone reading this EVER experienced something like this ? I certainly have not. Due to the last minute nature of the requirement, the family tried to make alternative plans to satisfy Freeman with the aforementioned Masoguard by sourcing one through a friend at a considerable discount to show compassion to a grieving Mother and Father by removing the FINANCIAL obstacle placed by FREEMAN, and allow their son to be buried on this daytime. NO SUCH LUCK. The obstinacy displayed by FREEMAN'S refusal to accept the masoguard was pure, absolute GREED at the expense of a grieving family. What entity that calls themselves PROFESSIONAL does something like this ??? The family was forced to leave their son there at the funeral home. The family was later notified that FREEMAN had placed the casket in the mausoleum WITHOUT FAMILY OR CLERGY PRESENT. This is a clear case of $$$ FIRST, family SECOND. I wouldn't trust these people to bury my PET TURTLE.  STAY AWAY  ! Addendum: FREEMAN IS CENSORING POOR REVIEWS BY TAKING THEM DOWN. THIS WILL CONTINUE TO BE POSTED SO PEOPLE WILL KNOW THE TRUTH.
I am greatly bothered by the indignation placed upon my husband's family, during the funeral services for Anthony Mitrione, on June 10, 2020. A matter concerning an additional cost of $900, that should have been addressed during initial plans, when his Father paid for what he considered the total cost of his son's service resulted in more grief, anger, and disillusion, for his family. I read your Mission Statement. It certainly failed Anthony Mitrione's family.
This is my families third time using this funeral home and it seems like we will continue using them. They keep doing great work and are very accommodating for my crazy family.

My family used them and it was a great pleasure. I wrote another review explaining the experience.
