We are a body of believers in Jesus Christ the Lord that strives to be a living reflection of God’s love for the world.
Our Distinctives:
Because of our unique history, the people who have been and are a part of our congregation, and our place in the Frenchtown community, these are some of the distinctive characteristics of our ministry:
*Welcoming all who come here, and offering them a place in our fellowship. More than anything else, we strive to be a loving community that reflects God’s love for the world.
*Providing nurture for children, youth, and their families, teaching them of God’s love for them and leading them to respond in faith.
*Caring for those who are hurting, especially those who struggle with addiction, and ensure that this is safe place for healing and new life.
Our Faith:
As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), our faith is guided by the Reformed tradition, which is born out of the sixteenth-century Protestant Reformation. At the core of this faith is our belief that the God who created the universe has freely chosen to save the world through Jesus Christ. In our individual lives and in our life together, we seek to respond to God’s amazing grace with love and service.
As Presbyterians, we place a great value on Scripture and the interpretation of Scripture according to the historic confessions of our faith. We observe two sacraments: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism celebrates a person’s (whether infant or adult) entrance into the fellowship of the Church. The Lord’s Supper, or Communion, commemorates the meal that Jesus celebrated with his disciples the night before he was crucified. Through this meal, God offers us his forgiving love and spiritual renewal.
We are a body of believers in Jesus Christ the Lord that strives to be a living reflection of God’s love for God’s world. Trusting in God’s grace as revealed in the Bible and interpreted by the Holy Spirit, we reach out to bring God’s message of hope, justice and reconciliation to each other and to all members of the local and global community.
