With the exception of the views, everything else was horrible. I'm convinced our waiter went for a walk on the beach while he was supposed to be working. We could not find him for 50 minutes! We finished our bottle of wine while waiting for dinner to arrive. No dinner, no waiter- not even a basket of bread. We were finally able to flag down a waitress from another table and asked her to find our waiter. 5 minutes later he comes over to the table and says "So, were you both able to save room for some dessert?" Unbelievable! He NEVER put the dinner order in. Perhaps if he popped his head over sooner he would have noticed his error. The Manager rushed our meals out. They were undercooked, no flavor. If this place wasn't on he water, it would never survive.

Fresh Salt is located inside Saybrook Point Inn on the water in Old Saybroom. It is a lovely spot on the water in Old Saybrook. If you are from out of town it would be worth you going for drinks ..maybe glass of wine and share an app. The food is not exemplary. The setting is. Dinner is pricey and not a culinary experience for those looking for a fabulous meal.

The location is beautiful and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Our waiter was attentive and very nice. However, the food was really not up to par. I ordered a salad for my lunch that was drenched in oil, but had no acid (vinegar). The other guests in our party were disappointed with a chicken sandwich, a Cobb salad, crab cakes, and drinks as well. We spent $180 on lunch for 5 people and will probably not be returning. If they could get the food on the same level as the surroundings, this would be a true destination!

My husband and I had dinner at fresh salt last night and everything was amazing. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the lamb shank. Both meals were cooked perfectly I would highly recommend!

We had a lovely breakfast. Friendly staff and great food. Plenty of parking. Easy access from I 95.
