About

Frida's Bakery & Cafe

Story

In 2013, Bob Pollock - owner of the luxurious Hudson Valley estate known as Buttermilk Falls Inn + Spa and Henry's at the Farm Restaurant in Milton NY - bought a bakery on Main Street in the Hudson Valley hamlet of Milton NY. His vision was to transform it into a space for all members of the community to congregate, relax, meet friends old and new, all while enjoying the comforts of a neighborhood café.

Milton NY was ripe for a little Renaissance and Pollock was up to the challenge of creating small, viable businesses there. The result was Frida’s, which shares its name with Pollock’s daughter, just as Henry’s at the Farm bears his son’s name.

Frida’s Bakery & Café represents, not only small-town charm, but quality, service and hospitality. Offering artisan breads, pastries, cakes, pies, cookies and coffees, Frida’s also presents house-made breakfasts and lunches, incorporating the region’s finest ingredients.

Frida’s philosophy is simple: use fine ingredients and employ traditional methods to produce exceptional soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts, as well as baked goods. Everything is made on the premises, from the house-roasted beef, to the pumpernickel loaf. The passion, dedication and exceptional service of Frida’s staff, is offered to every customer as they walk through the door.

Frida’s Bakery & Café offers holiday specials for every season, as well as gift cards, takeout and delivery service, a catering menu for group events, and a spacious contemporary second story loft perfect to host your special private events and parties.

Excellent quality- fresh, gourmet, always something new. The staff is stellar, friendly and seem to remember every customer from an earlier visit. I do go often but the draw back is you will pay top dollar and the service can be very slow. That said, it is a very comfortable, stylish "industrial" atmosphere so waiting is never a chore.

My family of 5 got there just a few minutes before closing, and the servers (and owner!) were just as sweet and gracious as if it were the beginning of the day. We got ice cream for now, fancy desserts to-go for later, cold drinks for the drive home, and our kiddos even got to check out the AWESOME playroom upstairs. Will definitely be back, great little jewel of a shop!
