My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The place is beautiful! We stayed the first weekend in February, which was quiet. This appealed to us. We purchased a package to include breakfast & dinner. We loved the fireplace and the snowy view on our patio! Mary was our room attendant and she was so hospitable. Our chef was Scott and he was amazing, honestly! Our server, Tracey, was very accommodating and friendly! It was the get away that we needed! Although it is a quiet town, you can go snowmobiling nearby, cross-country skiing on Friends Lake or drive about an hour to either White Face Mountain or Lake George for outlet shopping. This is a place for quiet and relaxation!

This is a nice country in, the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. It's a long pretty drive in the Adirondacks but worth it. They have a large selection of wines and the food was excellent.

Let me first start with the positives: The Inn is truly lovely, and the staff is very friendly. We were a bit surprised that the Inn does not back to the lake, because the picture imply as much, but this is not the reason for my modest review. I am not usually the person to write a lengthy and bad review, but in this case, I have have no other option. My husband found the staff to be ultimately unresponsive to our basic needs and inflexible to the idea that some compensation was appropriate. A hurricane moved through the area the first night of our stay, and I want to make clear that I am am not blaming the staff for weather conditions which are clearly beyond any one's control. Before the night was over we had no power. The staff did round asking if we wanted flash lights and we said no since we were going to bed shortly. What was unacceptable was the lack of response to the fact that we had no water in the morning. (The Inn has well water we had no water since we had no power.) There were no provisions made to supply guests with water, and there was nobody to notify since there was no one at the desk before 9:00 am. This leaves guests entirely on their own in the event of an emergency overnight!. The staff later told us they hoped the power would be back on by noon, and were were given an contact number to call to confirm the status of the power, and no mention was made for any sort of compensation for our considerable troubles. We returned to the Inn much later in the day and thankfully found the power and water restored. When we had dinner Saturday in the restaurant the lights dimmed twice and my husband and I looked at one another. The next morning we found that again we had no water. Power, yes, but no water! My husband went down stairs to look for someone and although they were once again, very apologetic, we were again, with out any provisions for water! My husband politely inquired about some sort of compensation for our troubles two nights running. The young girl running the desk said she would inquire, and then never said another word to us. At this point we wanted to check out promptly since we had no water to take care of our personal needs there was no reason to stay a minute longer. Upon check out we were greeted with a bill for nearly $300! Turns out, the dinner I thought I paid for Friday night was never charged to my card. Although I gave our server my card in good faith and I included the standard 20% gratuity before I signed the for bill, my card was returned to me with out any explanation or comment. That dinner included a gratuity fee which was not noted anywhere but was supposedly on a welcome letter that we never received upon checking in. The only thing we saw in print was a note about an included gratuity fee for groups of five or more. So when I paid for the dinner before checking out I had the second gratuity removed. The Inn may be beautiful, but we will never stay there again --too many miscommunications and certainly not the high standard for care and comfort that they boast. So we paid more than $800 for a virtual outdoor camping experience. Actually, had my husband and I prepared for an outdoor camping experience there would have been no problems with water because we would had brought it. If only we had known, we would have done the same before checking in. Stay again? No thank you.

Amazing experience in this boutique hotel privately owned and managed. A+ service, extremely comfortable beds in cozy rooms, wood fireplace to add up to a rustic vibe to experience Adirondacks naturally.
