Excellent old fashioned bakery!!  You better get there early if you want any goodies, especially on a holiday, as they sell out rather quickly.  The baked goods are delicious and reasonably priced!!  Staff always seem helpful. The line out the door speaks for itself in this hidden gem!!  (The lines form before they even open!)

I had grown up in Sayville, and Fritzsche's was a staple (along with Thornhill's Pharmacy, Greave's Stationary, and many more, now sadly long gone...). I had not been back for 23 years, and when I did, I was overjoyed to see Fritzsche's still extant, open, and delicious as ever! The black and whites, buttercake, and danishes are still stunning. The raisin pumpernickel is still simply the best bread I have ever eaten. I highly recommend a visit to Fritzsche's, especially in this age of industrial and near-plastic "baked goods" drowning us in the supermarkets. Fritzsche's is the real deal, and you can smell and taste the difference! Prices are still moderate and affordable, and the staff is amazing and friendly. You will be happy!
