I've used fusion now for two gigs - a major service one bike and a recent minor service on another. They do good work and I really like Brad. The basis for the 3 stars is this - when someone asks you to install a dropper post (that is provided by me) and do a basic service (pueblo, $50), wouldn't it be nice if someone called to tell you that there might be another $100 worth of work they wanted to do? When I pick up the bike it has a new chain, lots of new cable and housing. The bike is new last year and wasn't used much. I recently cleaned the chain and checked the wear. Although I appreciate his expert opinion I don't like extra work being done. Moral - be very explicit about what you want and don't want done to your bike, or expect the tally to be much more. Update: Brad does a lot for the local community, trying to get flow trails set up, going out with the local club, etc. Rent is stupid expensive in this town so one can't expect the pricing to be cheap, but he does good work.

I went in to look for handlebar grips. Three employees were at or near the counter. One was working on a bike, another sitting on a stool and engrossed in her smartphone, and a third standing behind her. No hello, welcome, or "can I help you?" I crouched and looked at grips (right in front of the counter) in vain. Finally, the guy working on the bike asked if I needed help. I told him what I was looking for, but no response, and the employees with their hands free didn't even budge. Thanks for the great customer service, Fusion. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Only bike shop in town. I got my bike serviced but the front disc brake was loosened and does not work very well. Probably need to spot-check before leaving the shop. Otherwise, they have a decent collection of sports goods.

Was helped today by a very knowledgeable, helpful young man. He set me up with a nice pair of Brooks.

Out $50 worth of MTB tires and another $60 of 'extras' I normally would stop by I liked their clothes and such. Have been shopping there for about a year. Read the positive Google reviews and decided to try out their bike tuneup services. Took my MTB in to get tuned up and to have road friendly tires put on for a 26 mile bike ride I was doing on road soon. Went to pick up my bike and alot of extras were added on. $50 tuneup, $50 for tires, what I was expecting-- $59 worth of extras I wasn't prepared for. He did say when dropping off the bike that he'll make decisions on what to replace and that could add up but anything too expensive he'll call first. But- nearly $60 worth of extras is still a shocker. I am just a student, so I do not have that type of cash available. He even installed a new seat stem without first going over it with me. I felt like I was getting nickel and dimed which didn't feel too good. Unfortunately they also threw away my nice MTB tires that I had just put on the bike. :'( They said it wasn't explicitly stated that I wanted to keep those MTB tires and they had already been 'tossed'. Tossed where? Those were good tires I can't imagine them being just thrown in a dumpster. I own those as with the stem. They should never be taken and thrown away without the owner's permission. At least be courteous, and ask. I normally take it to Stevie's Happy Bikes in Corrales and they give back the parts taken off the bike or ask if I would like to donate them. (The local kids stop by the bike shop and they will ask for used parts for cheap/free) Parts are never tossed in case the owner wants them back for other use. I guess I expected that type of service and thoughtfulness. I'll need to reinvest in another pair of MTB tires again. With the the unexpected high price of the tune up and unexpected loss of my MTB tires and other parts that worked just fine - Extremely bummed out. UPDATE: Took the bike out for the 26 mile ride and the seat kept falling. After going over this service with my bike friends and bike team in ABQ they stated that they have never had their parts taken off without their permission. Even if they ask for new parts - the shop gives their removed parts back in case they would like it as back up or to use on another bike. I'll stick to Stevie's Happy Bikes for all my bike maintenance needs. People crawl into Corrales just to get to his shop. There's a reason his shop is always voted #1 and has an outstanding reputation with the community.
