I had to return pants that I bought for my husband that were not the right size. I had my original debit card, my receipt from just one day previous and all the tags. If you're going to uphold a policy with returns, you need to have it posted either in the store on the registers or on the receipt. Being rudely told I had to sign up for the rewards program before making a return was just the start of my unpleasant experience. I explained that I've worked as a retail manager for 5 years and never experienced such a ridiculous rule, and the manager on duty (likely a supervisor) laughed at me and said "Really?" I told her I had just returned items at the Adidas store 5 minutes ago and had no such rules exhibited on me. The manager just laughed again. The cashier told me I could return the pants that included the tag, but to make sure they were attached next time. My husband had accidentally torn them off when trying them on so I understand. The manager then came back and said they can't accept tags that aren't attached. I pointed out how the cashier standing right next to her said something completely different, and the manager reluctantly took it anyway and didn't say anything at all. She then proceeded to refund me instead for a $20 shirt on my same receipt, while the pants were $31. No idea how you mix up "crew sweater" and "slim fit jeans". I had to point it out and they took another few minutes to change it without an apology or any words whatsoever. Overall, staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful, on top of laughing at me for saying they should have return policies posted at least on receipts. I'll never be returning to this store again.
