The Lakeside Nature Center offers nature-themed programs to the city and surrounding communities. Hours: 9-11:00 a.m. the 2nd Saturday of Every Month.
The Galesburg Nature Center project is a work in progress, located behind the Lakeside Splashzone Water Park at 1033 South Lake Storey Road. Knox College students helped to design a logo when the process first started. The renovation work was started in 2011 on the building structure, thanks to Dowers Roofing. During the summer,
Recreation staff painted the outside structural walls, while electricity was installed. New doors and windows were also installed. A grant from Galesburg Community Foundation and Ronald McDonald’s House Charities will help with the installation of a habitat garden and Nature Center supplies.
